Volunteering Opportunities are great ways for individuals and families and businesses to give back to our local community.

There are many aspects to an organization and its employees volunteering their time.  The first part is what do they focus on?  This would be what's in keeping to the company culture and their mission and values.  To help find volunteering opportunities, below are a couple of starting places....

The Corporation for National and Community Service (NationalService.gov) has a comprehensive structure for non-profits looking for volunteers, grants to non-profits wanting to help their community but need funding to do so.  They concentrate on six primary areas, disaster recovery, economic opportunity, education, environmental stewardship, healthy futures and veterans and military families.  These areas are handled through CNCS's core programs, AmeriCorps, SeniorCorps and Social Innovation Fund.
